Located about 15 kilometers from the center of Simav and at an altitude of 1450 meters, Gölcük is not an ordinary lake, but a "crater lake" formed on the summit of an extinct volcanic mountain. This high altitude offers a cool and refreshing microclimate even on the hottest days of summer.
